License

This article mainly introduces the CloudCanal activation tutorial,and the process of license application and use.

Terminology

• Apply Code
  • A unique credential to free get or purchase a license. (what's in the Apply Code?)
• License
  • It is used to activate the CloudCanal, including the authorization duration and the number of authorized DataJobs.

Install CloudCanal

• Download CloudCanal from the official website, and install according documents below.

  • Install (Linux/Mac)
  • Install (Windows)

  

Get the Apply Code

1. Log in CloudCanal web console, click the Inactive text in the upper right corner.

2. The pop-up window displays the Apply Code , click the Copy button or directly select the text.

Get a License

• Log in the official website ,click on the CloudCanal product page to Get a License.

Free Get a Community License

• Fill in the Apply Code.

• Click the Community tab.

• Click to Buy Now (0 USD).

• Click Check My Order to get licenses.

• You can also click your nick name in the upper right corner of the page, then click the Order History link to order list.

Purchase a Standard License

• Fill in the Apply Code.

• Click the Standard tab.

• Select the Number of DataJob and Usage Time you want,price refer to the Product Pricing document

• Click Buy Now.

• Check My Order and contact us to pay.

• You can also click your nick name in the upper right corner of the page, then click the Order History link to the order list.

Activate

• Populate the License into the CloudCanal console activation window.

• Click the Activate button.

• If activation is successful, the Activated ID appears in the upper-right corner of the web console.

• Click on the Activated Text to see the authorization information.

• To extend your usage or access more resources, simply follow the steps above to reapply for your license.

FAQ

Does license expiration affect running DataJobs？

• License expiration prohibits console operations (affecting O&M availability)
• License expiration Stops All DataJobs (impacting business availability)

Can editions of licenses be cross-used on different editions of CloudCanal？

• Community Licenses can be upgraded directly to Standard/Enterprise Licenses.
• Standard/Enterprise Licenses can not be downgraded to Community Licenses.

How to handle reactive failures after upgrade?

• After the upgrade, if CloudCanal becomes inactive, and you can re-apply for a new license from the ClouGence official website or from staff.
